It will be nearly a year soon since the start of the pandemic began. The majority of us have been working from home and spending a lot of time within your four walls. So you want to ensure that you always have something to occupy you, so that boredom at home does not kick in.
Keep Your Brain Active
By doing things like crossword puzzles, word searches, dot to dots, an adult colouring book, will enable you to keep your brain active, away from screen time. Doing mental arithmetic in your head or having to focus on answering questions will ensure that your brain is kept as active as possible and does not become sluggish over time. Especially when you are staring at either a laptop screen, smartphone or tv each day for many hours.
The various ways of watching entertainment at home have significantly improved within the last 10 years. Gone are the days where you would have to sit through endless hours of adverts on live television, when you can either fast forward through them now or catch up on tv programmes at a later time through on demand services. There were reported to be at least 13 million Netflix subscribers in 2020 with at least 24% of households signed up to at least two different online subscriptions. 1
There are a plethora of options in terms of viewing content online, so knowing where to find hgtv streaming options and all the various online streaming platforms is useful to know. So how can we ever get bored now? when you are provided with an extensive range of films, dramas and documentaries to choose from at your fingertips.
Connect With Nature
If you are lucky to have a garden, try to make the most of this by keeping a section free for plants and flowers. You could try growing a few different fruits and vegetables plants to give you something to focus on daily. It will enable you to get outside in the fresh air for a few hours each day gardening. This in itself is a form of exercise. If you do not however have an outside space, you could start a little herb garden in your kitchen instead, whereby you could still grow your own produce and use it in your home cooked meals.
Put Together Photo Albums
The majority of the time now we take a digital snapshot on our smartphones. We leave the photos there for the foreseeable future or upload them onto social media. It will make a nice change instead to put together a photo album of happy memories. You can flick through whenever you choose to and have the memories to hold onto in your hands. It would be the ideal opportunity to do this if you have extra time on your hands.
