Whatever purpose your blog is there to serve, there are many advantages to making sure that it is as attractive as possible at all times. When it’s truly and genuinely nice to look at and easy to read, you’re going to find that more people read it and share it, and those are of course the primary factors that you are probably looking for when it comes to making your blog successful. Let’s take a look at some of the steps to take if you want to make your blog instantly more attractive to everyone who sees it.
Cut Down The Header
First off, most people write headers that are far too long. There is some logic behind this, and some evidence that SEO is improved with longer titles. However, that evidence is somewhat flimsy, and it certainly doesn’t lend much to the appearance of a blog post for it to have an incredibly long header at the top. There is still much to be said for the old school way of writing a short, snappy heading, so that is something you might want to think about with your own blog if you want it to look much better.
Break Up The Text
One of the most common rookie mistakes with blogs is to have it so that there are huge blocks of text throughout the piece. Even if you are writing highbrow political opinions, there is no reason to inundate your reader with walls of text. It’s much better on the eyes to break the text up a little, and to keep paragraphs separate as they should be. Ideally you should aim for paragraphs of four or five lines at most, or a little more depending on the content, but certainly not much more than that.
Incorporate Professional Images
It’s definitely important that your blog posts have a lot of images, and the better quality these images are, the more attractive the blog as a whole is going to be. You should therefore make sure to incorporate plenty of professional images into your blog posts as often as you can, as doing so will mean that you are going to have much more of a good look through to your site. Aim for pro stock photography if you are not using your own images, and again ensure that you don’t fill the page with too many of them.
Declutter The Page
Finally, you should generally aim to keep the page as free of clutter as possible. There is really no need to have pages full of stuff, and there is no way that this is how you make things look better. It’s much more attractive to declutter the page a little, and in doing so you will find that your blog starts to look so much more how you want it to look. So that is certainly something that you can return to again and again when you want your blog to be better-looking for yourself and your readers.
