Spring is on its way at last…but let’s talk about Christmas. For most of us, Christmas preparations don’t start until December, but there’s so much we can do throughout the rest of the year to help spread the cost and ease the financial burden of the festive season. Christmas is not worth getting into debt over for the rest of the year. You don’t have to spend beyond your means to enjoy it. A frugal Christmas is perfectly possible with a little preparation.

From buying decorations out of season to making your own, you can be inventive when it comes to Christmas decor. There are 12 days of Christmas activities you can do for very little money, or for free.
You don’t have to pay through the nose for decorations which only come out of the loft once a year. My favourite tip is how to create that lovely warming Christmas aroma for nothing.
With some forethought and these tips you can sail through Christmas without overspending. It’s a fraught enough time as it is. Eliminate money worries by preparing well in advance, giving you time and the chance to relax and enjoy Christmas.
